“Managing Up” in Your Career

Join us for a leadership workshop on Managing Up” to learn how to work more effectively with those higher up in your organizational hierarchy to help advance your career.  This workshop will help you to gain a better understanding of your own intrinsic and extrinsic motivations as well as those higher up at work (like your boss) who influence your career. The speakers will provide context to help you find the middle ground between your needs and their needs, anticipate the future, build effective communication, and make win-win decisions.  At the end of this workshop, you will have the tools to build better relationships and create rapport.  This will also be an excellent opportunity for networking!

No matter where you are in your career journey, this workshop promises to provide valuable insights to support your own professional development!  While this event is sponsored by AWIS-Houston, please note anyone is welcome to attend!

The speakers are both experienced moderators of various leadership workshops:

Dr. Dorothy Shippen, Texas A&M University Distinguished Professor in Biochemistry/Biophysics/Genetics

Dr. Carol Vargas Bautista, International Consultant and Career Coach, Former Dean of Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University
