AWIS Houston hosted an incredible celebration on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Hungry’s in Rice Village to honor our 2026 Outstanding Woman in Science (OWIS) awardee, Dr. Vasanthi Jayaraman! We heard about her career journey to become Chair for the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School, and the ~30 attendees made new connections within the community. CONGRATS TO DR. JAYARAMAN!
